Accuris Quicksilver™ Tris-MES-SDS powdered buffer packs: Add pre-measured pack to 1 L of dH2O and stir for fresh 1X buffer.
Quick-dissolving (5 minutes or less). No pH adjustment necessary (pH 6.8-7.2).
Tris-MES-SDS is used as a running buffer during SDS-PAGE of proteins using Bis-Tris polyacrylamide gels (e.g. Invitrogen NuPAGE™ gels).
MES is ideal for separating small proteins less that 50 kDa and MOPS is ideal for separating medium and large proteins. MES has a lower pKa than MOPS so it runs faster than MOPS.
Quicksilver buffers are available for use during nucleic acid electrophoresis, protein electrophoresis, Western blotting, ELISA and cell culture.
1X Tris-MES-SDS solution contains 50 mM Tris, 50 mM MES, 0.1% SDS and 1 mM EDTA. Nuclease- and protease-free.
Powdered buffer packs come in a convenient, space-saving dispenser box, 50 pouches/pack.
Makes 50 L of 1 X Tris-MES-SDS. Equivalent to 5 L of 10X Tris-MES-SDS.
