Utilize this 50 mm Glass Fiber Disk with 1 um pore size, as a prefilter when filtering viscous or particle-containing solutions through a Celltreat filter system (or bottle top filter), for example.
Glass microfiber membranes are a good way to remove suspended solids (i.e. large particles) from a solution prior to filtration through 0.45 um, 0.22 um and 0.10 um filters, which can slow filtration drastically or clog the filter completely.
Celltreat 1 um glass fiber prefilter disks are 50 mm in diameter, sterile and binder-free (they do not bind particles together; they just trap them in the glass fibers).
DNase- and RNase-free and non-pyorgenic.
