Accuris Quicksilver™ Tris Buffered Saline (TBS) powdered buffer packs: Add pre-measured pack to 1 L of dH2O and stir for fresh 1X TBS buffer.
Quick-dissolving (5 minutes or less). No pH adjustment necessary (pH 7.25-7.55).
TBS is a buffer that is used to make blocking buffer during Western blotting and ELISA where proteins are detected using fluorescence (TBS-T isn’t used during the blocking step when detecting proteins by fluorescence because Tween 20 auto-fluoresces). TBS-T can be used in subsequent steps. TBS is also used during immunohistochemistry.
Quicksilver buffers are available for use during nucleic acid electrophoresis, protein electrophoresis, Western blotting, ELISA and cell culture.
1X TBS solution contains 137 mM NaCl, 2.7 mM KCl and 50 mM Tris. Nuclease- and protease-free.
Powdered buffer packs come in a convenient, space-saving dispenser box, 100 pouches/pack.
Makes 100 L of 1 X TBS. Equivalent to 10 L of 10X TBS.
